Those Fridays

Today, I had no school. Kathleen woke me up at approximately 9:43AM with a phone call. I could not go back to sleep, so I decided to initiate the computer. Chelsea IMed me on aim and asked to go to my residence. Melissa and I had a little conversation while I waited for Chelsea to arrive. Chelsea rapidly then arrived, and my sister did too. My sister informed me to cook rice. I opened up the rice cooker to see that there was rigid rice because someone pressed the cook button again. Chelsea assisted me to take out the rice. I cleaned the basin, and added 1 cup of rice. I measured water and pressed cook.

As soon as my sister left, I watched a little of ‘Degrassi’ and went off to take a shower. I got dressed in my attire, fixed myself up, and went downstairs to distinguish if Kathleen had arrived. I was worried to see if she would have eaten the left over Kentucky Fried Chicken for my grandmother. Gladly, she was not there yet.

Yet, she soon came, with her own Kentucky Fried Chicken. I went upstairs to get a few belongings, and when I got back down, I see Kathleen rearranging my furniture. She tossed a few items for me to grasp. She immediately attained for the couch cushions and attempted to remove them. The moment she removed them, we all laughed, and she said, “I have never seen a couch with all three cushions connected.”

Chelsea and I laughed as Kathleen tried to haul out the bed. I helped her, only being able to open half of the bed. Chelsea assisted me once again and pulled it all the way. Kathleen jumped on and I turned the channel to ‘Epic Movie’. We laughed at how stupid and corny the parts were. I said, “Oh my gawsh, I have ‘Hot Cheetos Puffs’.” Kathleen replied, “Go get them!” I ran up and ran down.

‘Epic Movie’ ended. And I rummaged around the channel guide for more movies. I scanned and found out that the Japanese version of ‘The Eye’ was playing. We quickly watched and laughed and the strangest parts.

The movie was getting boring, and we were waiting for Melissa to arrive. We decided to start walking and maybe see Melissa on the way. We did; just a few houses over. She got out of the car and walked with us.

We stopped by AMPM to, maybe, get a few snacks. We decided to just buy food nearby Rowland High School. We walked over to McDonalds, so we can wait for the bus. The bus came five minutes later. I had to get some change from Chelsea in order to pay for our trip. The emergency stop rope wasn’t functioning so we passed by our stop, but that was okay, so we decided to go directly to Rowland.

We went to Morning glory and got some really cool stickers. Then we went to Dolphin Bay. I got ground pork on rice and Kathleen and Chelsea got Boba Milk Tea. We started to walk towards Rowland. Chelsea and Kathleen kept spitting boba at me and Melissa. We caught up with the rest of our friends, and we all greeted each other with hugs.

It started to get boring, so Melissa and I decided to have a little chit chat near the lockers. April called later telling us to go to the gym to watch the basketball game. Once we got there, I see Chelsea, Kathleen, and Lily, walking out. Chelsea said that they were going to the mall. So Melissa and I followed. We reached the bus stop, and the bus came in ten minutes. We got on and then we got off nearby the small market ‘Nijya’.

We packed the basket with goods and each of us paid five dollars each except for Melissa who paid ten. We then walked toward the mall. Melissa was taking too long, so everyone else was ahead of us. We passed by Target and a large lady in a wheelchair pulled us over. She said, “Hello girls, my car broke down, and I was wondering if you could spare me a few dollars. I’m trying to get a taxi cab to Fontana.” It was quiet for a few moments. Melissa replied, “We spent our money on food.” “Oh, okay. I’m just really desperate.” Melissa and I kept walking faster.

Once we reached the mall, we started singing. The song ‘Stickwitu’ came about while we were passing Circuit City. We opened the doors to enter the mall, and sit down at the food court to devour our goods. As we were eating, Kathleen was trying to break. Later, I notice a girl that looked strangely familiar. I asked Kathleen to confirm if it was my friend Carmina. It was. I yelled her name, and we ran to hug each other. Everyone used my camera to film our little snack session.

I walked around with Melissa so we could go shop for matching outfits. We went to Victoria Secret and then to Fashion Q. We decided to go to Papaya. We explored and found a beautiful unique tunic top. We hit the dressing rooms. And Melissa decided to buy two solids shirts, and I decided to buy the tunic top. After, we went into Charlotte Russe, and Melissa purchased a screen tee.

My dad picked us up right after and dropped us off at our weekly Friday night Christian Fellowship Bible Study. It wasn’t starting yet, so Melissa and I went to the restroom so she can fix her face. We then, sat down in our seats and waited for it to start. We sand three songs and played charades after. We entered the library so the teacher, Kuya Jireh, could teach us the message he had for us that day. He talked about the third part of the three-legged-stool. It was the resurrection. I captured the message to be meaningful to realize that other religions that worship false gods have died. But Jesus, our savior, was resurrected.

We went into prayer groups. That day, my prayer group was Kristine, Helen, and Janice. We each talked about our weeks and said any prayer requests. Ateh Helen prayed for all of us. I hugged everyone goodbye to leave for home.
